What is Alcohol Use Disorder?
Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) a medical condition that occurs when a person is unable to stop or control alcohol use even when they are aware of social, occupational and health consequences. Alcohol Use Disorder is more commonly known as alcohol abuse, alcohol dependence, alcohol addiction or alcoholism. Alcohol Use Disorder is considered as brain disorder and the symptoms may be mild, moderate or severe. Factors that may lead to Alcohol Use Disorder includes drinking at an early age, genetics and family history of alcohol problems, mental health conditions and history of trauma. The effects from alcohol abuse may include inappropriate behavior, unstable moods, poor judgement, problems with attention, memory impair and poor coordination. On the physical side, the side effects may include high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, digestive problems and various forms of cancer. Treatment for AUD varies among each patients. Doctors and therapists may prescribe medicine, behavior treatments, mutual-support groups and another form of treatment is using CBD to help recover from AUD. Heavy consumption of alcohol can lead to liver damage and there is a medical condition for this called, alcohol-related liver disease (ARLD). Can you use CBD with alcohol and are there any side effects?
CBD and alcohol can interact with one another if you take them within four to eight hours of each other.
