Cannabinoids' Impact On Gastrointestinal Disorder

Cannabinoids' Impact On Gastrointestinal Disorder

What is Gastrointestinal Disorder?

Gastrointestinal Disorder (GI) is anything that affects the conditions of the digestive system. The digestive system is an essential part of your body as it is responsible for breaking down food and absorbing nutrients. Your body needs this to survive.

There are many types of gastrointestinal disorders like: gallstones, pancreatitis, peptic ulcers, acid reflux ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

During gastrointestinal disorder you may experience bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, constipation, heartburn, weight loss or fatigue.

How Does Cannabinoids Affect Your Digestive System?

Cannabinoids are naturally found in the cannabis sativa plant. There are over a 100 cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. THC, CBD, CBDa, THCa, CBN, CBD, CBC and CBG are among the most well known cannabinoids. Each of these components from the cannabis plant have their own therapeutic properties that have proven to be beneficial to our health. To read more about cannabinoids click here:

Researchers have found that cannabinoids interact with our Endocannabinoid System which consists of receptors and neurotransmitters that has a major role in our body functions like regulating mood, behavior, pain sensation management, memory, emotions, appetite, gastrointestinal mobility and regulating the immune system.

Here's an example of how cannabinoid can help with gastroesophageal disorder. For example, in the case of irritable bowel syndrome, cannabinoids are said to be able to help keep your digestive system at bay. CBD and other cannabinoids relieve symptoms that come with IBS like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cannabinoids like THC can help stimulate appetite for people who find it hard to eat especially if there is unrest with your gut.

Cannabinoids like CBD and CBG can activate CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system with its anti-inflammatory properties to help battle the symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). It is also found that cannabis can play a role in reducing pain and limiting bowel movements. But the magic doesn't stop there! Cannabinoids can also help reduce stress and anxiety that comes with the disease. People that use cannabinoids for treatment can take comfort in knowing that cannabinoids like CBD will help manage and alleviate depression, provide rest and sleep while helping you to stay focused and assist you in performing your duties properly.

Gastrointestinal disorders are more common than you think and choosing cannabinoids like CBD as an alternative treatment can help boost your life. It is essential to always consult with medical professionals if you want to start using cannabis.
