Tramadol is a very strong pain medication that is issued to treat mild to severe pain symptoms. Tramadol is a synthetic opioid that works with the brain and central nervous system in your spine. Because tramadol is a synthetic opioid, tramadol should be used only under medical supervision and abusing tramadol may lead to addiction.
Tramedol should not be used if you having breathing problems, history of seizures, if you are taking antidepressants or have suicidal tendencies. Tramadol may not be used with alcohol or tranquilizers.
Is it safe to take CBD with tramadol?
Studies have shown that CBD can decrease the effects of tramadol if taken in large doses. This means that CBD would reduce the positive effects of tramadol and at the same time increase the negative effects of tramadol.
Another study showed that CBD might slow down CYP2DC which is a liver enzyme that is responsible for the metabolism of tramadol in your body.
Some people may have the opposite effect. Because CBD may slow down the metabolism of tramadol it may increase the effects of tramadol in the bloodstream causing the body to receive a higher amount of tramadol than desired.
Tramadol and CBD may be good options for pain management, but given the risk of side-effects from taking both together it is recommended that there should be a gap between administering CBD and tramadol for at least 2 hours apart.
However, more study on the relationship between CBD and tramadol is needed to fully understand how they work together and to be able to give a more accurate recommendation.
Tramadol is a good choice for a pain-relieving agent, but it does come with some challenging side effects like reports of breathing issues, slow heart rate or seizures. Do keep in mind that tramadol is a synthetic opioid and can lead to overrode or addiction and should be used only with supervision from your medical provider.
CBD on the other hand is non-addictive and there are no withdrawal symptoms if you choose to stop using CBD.
